Matsumoto Honbako Book Store Hours for non-guests: 12:00 – 17:00
Matsumoto Honbako is a book store where you can encounter new knowledge. The store is divided into five areas: Hon no Michi, 幅 書 店, Otona Honbako, Kodomo Honbako, and 367 (Sanrokunana). We have selected the books to expose our guests to worlds they didn’t know existed. The store features 10,000 books that will pique your curiosity, including photo and art books, essay collections, and introductory books. The book selection was supervised by Bach, a book curation company led by the renowned book director Yoshitaka Haba, and Hiraku, the book selection team from Nippan, a major Japanese publisher. Each area has a different concept and different book selection standards. We hope you will immerse yourself in a world of books and new knowledge.
□ Please remove your shoes before entering the area beyond the carpet.
□ The bathroom is located downstairs in the Kodomo Honbako area.
□ There is a coffee maker on the bookshelf in front of the front desk on the first floor (next to the elevator). Guests can help themselves to free coffee any time. Please use the tumblers from your room, which you can take home as a souvenir.
□ The area next to the front desk on the first floor doubles as a bar. Draft and craft beers, original hard cider, and wine are available until 23:00.
□ Do not take any books to your room without paying for them first. You are welcome to read books inside the book store.
